The Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 is a highly mobile on-campus worker who needs cost-effective, on-premises, comprehensive voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN) communications. It is a ruggedized, durable, and secure 802.11 wireless LAN phone. The Cisco 8821 is intended for employees with higher demanding jobs, such doctors and nurses. Employees on rigs in the chemical and oil industries, operations and engineering staff in manufacturing, or customer service agents in retail. The Cisco 8821 is slim and light, but it has a user-friendly design. It is sealed to provide protection from dust, splash, and water and is designated for Ingress Protection Standard (IP67). The user's preferred third-party wireless headsets are supported by Bluetooth, which gives them more freedom by releasing them from the handset's tether. Push-to-talk and other XML applications are supported by the 8821 from Cisco and/or third parties.
